wacom is my worst enemy!

So today was Chinese Lunar New Years. Year of the ox. Hopefully, that is a sign of good luck for me, being that I am one. Today was also the start of my online Digital Imaging class. I cannot seem to get a grip on controlling the Wacom tablet. My first assignment was to "test out the tablet." Here are some attempts. hahah. Any tips or advice on how to control the thing?

I miss Doodge.

HW before semester starts...

Here is the quickie sketch assignment of existing cars...

Man, I definitely need more practice. Oh well, I guess that's what trans 1 is for.

should i do more?

The little watch sketch I added was just an unfinished little thing I did over break. It's a watch/mp3 player that is usb pluggable. It's energy source is supplemented similarly to a pedometer. So, ideally, as you walk or run listening to this mp3 player, it charges itself.

Found my old sketchbook

So I found my old sketchbook. I decided to look for my sketchbook after a rude awakening that I supposedly had hw over winter break. Now, technically, I am not enrolled in any class over winter break, but apparently, I did not get the memo that car sketches are due the first day of trans 1. However, thanks to my friend Joe, who saved me by calling me, I have 3days to complete some sketches before class. Thanks Joe. Man, I am rusty... I feel I don't remember how to draw cubes...

So, being that I have not picked up a pencil over break, I am scrambling for some motivational references on how to draw cars. I happened to stumble upon these old doodles done in my sketchbook. I will try to upload the trans 1 sketches once I get some done.

cellphone model

This was a cellphone model making project. The goal was to create a quick sketch model to present an electronic handheld device concept.

My first attempt at keeping record

So I decided I would keep a blog of all my design work starting from now. Enjoy. Many of the car sketches are pre Academy of Art. I admit, they aren't great, but I am hoping to look back on these and gauge some progress. I took some classes at Art Center at Night prior to moving back to the Bay Area, and the Transportation and Product projects are part of an Intro to Trans/Product Design class.

First batch of images are some sketches done for my intro to trans class at ACAN. The prompt was to create a vehicle for the brand EZGO... a brand that specifically does small utility type carts. My direction was to produce a cart that played with the seating and human factors of the cart. I wanted to change the boring aspect of passengers staring at the back of the head of their driver. So after building on the concept of a Roman Charriot, I came to a two piece solution. I decided to go the direction of a futuristic airport transport with a segway type motor unit and passenger carriage. More pics

This second batch of sketches are those for Intro to Product Design. I designed a leash pooper scooper combo, inspired by my girlfriend's dog Suushi. The idea was to solve the problem of having to carry around a bag of poop in the open for sanitary and pyschological reasons while walking your dog. So, my solution was to have the leash house be a pooper scooper simultaneously. The disposable bag inside guarantees a no mess quick pick up. It actually is quite simple. The leash is retractable, and the bag can be housed inside the leash canister for easy scoop and dispose. More Pictures

These last few are just some sketches done for an Intro to Comm Sketch Class, and some fun sketches with my friend and future designer James(thanks james for all the tips!)
